The Strengthening Tribal Response to Violence Against Native Women Initiative provides tools and resources for tribes to build their capacity to develop victim services and tribal criminal justice systems to more effectively address victim safety and offender accountability. Training and technical assistance (TA) is available to provide critical resources to tribal governments and programs that do not currently have Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) grant funding. These resources focus on building tribal capacity to address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking in tribal communities.

The Initiative comprehensively addresses:

  • Coordinated Community Response (CCR)

  • Professional Training

  • Emergency Shelter/Safe Home

  • Alaska Native Villages

Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA):

  • Webinars

  • Tools and resources on website

  • Onsite and distance learning

  • Critical resources for victim safety
