The Initiative is available to assist tribal governments and tribal communities that do not currently have Office on Violence Against Women funding. Specifically, we can assist tribes in the areas of Coordinated Community Response, Safe Shelter and Housing, and Legal Response (particularly Tribal Protection Order assistance). We can provide remote assistance, including telephonic, email, and resource referral as well as possible onsite training and technical assistance services.

Available technical assistance includes, but not limited to, the following:

  • Onsite training limited to targeted tribes;

  • Distance learning resources via webinar or podcast on the topical areas of Coordinated Community Response (CCR), Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) development, implementation including working across jurisdictional boundaries, role of team members and victim-centered approaches;

  • Resources and tools to build capacity
